Godolphin will be hoping for a change of fortune when City Style contests the Singapore Airlines International Cup at Kranji on Sunday.

Sheikh Mohammed’s operation endured a tough week at York with Derby hope Mandaean and Group One winner Be Fabulous both running poorly on their debuts for Mahmood Al Zarooni.

City Style was last seen running a fine race to finish third in the Dubai Duty Free behind Cityscape and will be ridden by Mickael Barzalona.

“He now knows he’s going to run,” said Andrea Mascolo, travelling head lad for Al Zarooni.

“After his first workout yesterday he moved very well this morning. He was concentrating, had his head right instead of pulling, looking up, then pulling again.

“He had his head down and got on with what he was meant to be doing.

Wake Up

“We’ll give him a little canter in the morning just to wake him up. He can have a trot first and then a couple of furlongs steady hack just to get the blood going without raising too much of a sweat.”

Zazou is the favourite having finished fifth in the World Cup to Monterosso for German trainer Waldemar Hickst

“He looks very good. I’m very happy with him,” said Hickst.

“We are not spoiled in Germany and we have all that we need here. No reason to complain.

“His condition is the same as in Dubai. He is a seasoned traveller and he seems to have travelled very well again.”
