Dandino

Dandino may be seen next in the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot after his fine run against Sea Moon at Goodwood last Saturday.

Now trained by James Fanshawe following an aborted hurdling attempt with Nicky Henderson, the five-year-old was a Group Two winner with his initial trainer James Given.

Having pushed the Breeders’ Cup Turf runner-up so close, Fanshawe is looking forward to planning the rest of the campaign.

“He’s come out of the race fine, I’m very happy with him,” said Fanshawe.

“He ran really well and I was delighted with him.

“Obviously second is not much use to anyone, but there are occasions when you can come second and be pleased and this was one of those.

“He’s in the Hardwicke and that’s his most likely next race, but we’ll see how he is nearer the time.”
