Danedream (AAndrasch Starke) wins the Prix'de l'Arc'de Triomphe Twelve months after the Aga Khan’s Arc-placed Sarafina took this race, the Prince’s Shareta [Alain'de Royer-Dupre/Christophe Lemaire] lines up attempting to regain the winning thread having finished second at Longchamp the previous October.

The daughter of Sinndar thrived on the fast surface in the Arc to outrun her odds in chasing home Danedream.

On her return to action she produced an excellent effort to finish third behind Aquamarine and Haya Landa on very testing ground in the Prix Allez France at Chantilly, giving weight away into the bargain.

“This time she has herground,” said Royer-Dupre at Longchamp on Sunday. “I thought she ran a good race on her comeback and she worked well earlier this week with the filly that has just won the Saint-Alary [Sagawara].”

Royer-Dupre has landedfour of the last six runnings of the race, with Pride (2006), Mandesha (2007) and Alpine Rose (2009) joining Sarafina on the recent roll of honour.

Aquamarine was not considered the Wildenstein Family’s prime representative in her last race and trainer Mikel Delzangles is hopeful rather than confident of confirming the placings at Saint-Cloud.

“She’s very well albeit this is a race where she has a little less in her favour,” he said. “The ground won’t be as soft and she meets some of the others on worse terms but she’s a courageous filly and I expect her to run well.”

Haya Landa (Sylvie Audon/Thierry Thulliez) continues to run well at Group level without being able to get her head in front, having finished fourth in last season’s Prix’de Diane.

The best form on offer away from the Allez France is that of Solemia (Carlos Laffon-Parias/Olivier Peslier).

An easy winner of the Listed Prix Lord Seymour, she then enjoyed a torrid passage when promoted to second behind Allied Powers back at Longchamp three weeks ago in the Prix’d'Hedouville.
