Gossamer Seed could be set to drop back in distance in search of a second Group Three success following her convincing win at the Curragh earlier this month.

Trainer John Murphy has the six-furlong Ballyogan Stakes at Leopardstown on June 14 in mind for the four-year-old after she opened her Pattern-race account in tremendous style in the Athasi Stakes over seven.

“She’s come out of the race 100% and is in good shape,” said Murphy.

“She’s in a Group Three in Leopardstown over six furlongs and it looks like she’ll go for that.

“She did it well at the Curragh, so we were very happy and she’ll go for the Ballyogan unless the ground ends up firm. She likes a bit of cut in the ground, it has to be at least good.”

Plans Altered

Murphy has had to alter his plans for Goldplated after a’re-opened cut forced him to withdraw her from running in the Betfred Middleton Stakes at York on Thursday.

The County Cork-based handler is hoping she will be ready for the Kerry Group Noblesse Stakes at his local track on June 17.

“She’s got a slight cut so I’ve taken her out of the York race,” said Murphy.

“She had a little cut about a month ago and it’re-opened last week. We thought we’d get away with it, but we’ve been beaten by a few days.

“It’s a shame as otherwise she’s in great shape.

“She’s in the Noblesse Stakes in Cork and that looks the plan at the moment in about two and a half weeks time. Fingers crossed it will have cleared up by then.”
