Last year’s winner Awesome Maria (Todd Pletcher/John Velazquez) bids to extend her winning streak to seven after a couple of dominant victories at Gulfstream this winter following an injury that sidelined her for the second half of 2011.

The front-runner gives away weight to four rivals, headed by Godolphin’s It’s Tricky (Kiaran McLaughlin/Eddie Castro), runner-up in the Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic after winning a pair of Grade 1s last term.

Belmont Park: Acorn Stakes (Grade 1) 1m, dirt, 3yo fillies (10.14pm BST, live on ATR)

Contested (Bob Baffert/Javier Castellano) steps up to Grade 1 company after winning her last three starts by a cumulative 17 lengths, including an impressive win at Churchill Downs on May 4 in the Eight Belles.

Both On Fire Baby (Gary Hartlage/Joe Johnson) and Sacristy (Wayne Catalano/Rosie Napravnik) exit the Kentucky Oaks, where they finished fifth and seventh.

Hollywood Park: Gamely Hcap (Grade 1) 1m1f, turf, 3yo+ f/m (Sun 1.11am BST)

Kentucky Derby-winning owner Paul Reddam calls on I’ll Have Another’s jockey Mario Gutierrez on former Brian Meehan-trained Quiet Oasis (Ben Cecil).

Gutierrez was on board when the four-year-old scored on her seasonal debut in Grade 3 company.

Belle Royale (Simon Callaghan/Joel Rosario), who landed a hat-trick last summer for Mark Brisbourne in England, represents Michael Tabor.
