Barry had quit her job with trainer Clive Cox, citing a battle with the scales which has left her emotionally drained.
"It was the hardest decision I have had to make as I am not a quitter," said Barry, who plans to go travelling for the immediate future.
"I'm only 20 and I hope to come back and give it another go but the weight issues have just got to'me. I am struggling to do 9st and I claim 5lb.
"I was getting so stressed, worried and confused with it all. It was all getting a blur and I was craving food and getting depressed."
Barry showed her undiminished talents when bringing the 11-year-old Jake The Snake from last to first, as the 17-2 outsider of the six runners, in the 6f handicap.
Barry hopes to ride work and barrier trials in Australia to further her experience and learn to ride to against the clock but she also plans to travel further with her brother, who is currently in Cambodia.
