Elusive Kate’s connections have yet to rule out the possibility of the Group One-winning filly making a return to the track at Royal Ascot.

Mainly campaigned abroad last season by John Gosden, she made smooth progress through the grades in France, culminating in a performance in the Prix Marcel Boussac where she was good enough to score by three lengths despite hanging across the track.

Only eighth when favourite for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies’ Turf, Elusive Kate changed hands from Magnolia Racing and Gosden’s wife Rachel Hood to Teruya Yoshida. but remains with her existing trainer.

“It’s very much up to John Gosden but we are planning to run in the Coronation Stakes,” said Yoshida’s racing manager, Patrick Barbe.

“Let’s see – it depends how she goes. The ground was a bit soft in Newmarket for the Guineas and she wasn’t 100%.

“She’s a Group One winner so it’s difficult to find races. We’re hoping to make Ascot, anyway.”
