The three Irish raiders failed to make an impact as Usual Suspects won the Prix Alain Du Breil at Auteuil on Sunday afternoon.

The Willie Mullins-trained Ut’De Sivola fared best in fifth place, two in front of Tony Martin’s Wingtips, but Triumph Hurdle runner-up Hisaabaat was a major disappointment for Dermot Weld as he trailed in last.

Blingless (12/1) set a steady gallop for much of the extended 2m 3f Grade 1 contest for four-year-olds until the pace quickened after they jumped the third-last flight.

And it was Usual Suspects (11/4jf), ridden by Cyrille Gombeau, who stayed on strongly against the rail in the home straight to repel the challenge of Chegei Has (14/1).

The pair pulled a long way clear of Blingless after the final flight where Esmondo took a crashing fall when just in behind the first two home.
