SO YOU THINK has been installed 5-2 favourite with the sponsors to post back-to-back wins in the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown next month.
Although Frankel holds an entry for the Group 1 contest on July 7, his trainer Sir Henry Cecil said stablemate Twice Over, winner of the race two years ago, is likely to represent him leaving the sponsors to price up last year’s winner at the head of their betting.
Recent course and distance winner Carlton House is the 5-1 second-favourite, ahead of Bonfire and Excelebration, both at 8-1. Other possible runners include the King George winner, Nathaniel, who is a 12-1 chance along with Twice Over.
“With Frankel sticking at a mile for the Sussex Stakes, So You Think is a worthy favourite for a repeat win in the Coral-Eclipse, although with possible opposition including Her Majesty’s Carlton House, a King George winner in Nathaniel, and the winner of the world’s richest race, Monterosso, the former Aussie superstar is unlikely to have things all his own way,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
Coral has also opened betting on the Qipco Champion Stakes, for which Frankel is the 4-5 favourite, with Derby winner Camelot and last year’s winner of the race Cirrus Des Aigles next in the betting at 6-1.
Coral-Eclipse 5-2 So You Think, 5 Carlton House, 8 Bonfire, Excelebration, 12 Nathaniel, Twice Over, 14 Monterosso, 16 Cityscape, Crackerjack King, Parish Hall, Planteur, 20 Born To Sea, Ektihaam, 25 Capponi, Light Heavy,
