Fame And Glory Trained by Aidan O’Brien for the Coolmore partners and Jim and Fitri Hay, Fame And Glory was shortened to 6-4 (from 13-8) by William Hill for the 2m4f Group 1 while Betfred made the six-year-old 13-8 (from 7-4).

Fame And Glory won both of his starts at Ascot last season, including justifying significant support in the Gold Cup, and made a winning comeback under jockey Joseph O’Brien at Navan last month.

“Joseph said he was a bit fresh and keen at Navan, but he showed plenty of life,” Spencer told At The Races. “It was his first start of the year and he improved from his runs last year when he got to Ascot and I’m sure Aidan will have him in top-top shape.

“He’s up against good horses like Saddler’s Rock and Colour Vision, so we will have to see how the race pans out.”

Edinburgh Knight continued to shorten for next Wednesday’s Royal Hunt Cup following positive words from his trainer Paul’d'Arcy in Tuesday’s Racing Post.

The five-year-old was cut to a general 12-1 (from 16) for the 1m handicap and Ladbrokes spokesman David Williams said: “The gamble shows no signs of slowing. There is every chance of him making his way to big-race favourite for the Hunt Cup if the recent money is any guide.”

The prospect of a seventh international winner of the King’s Stand Stakes in the last ten years increased in the eyes of bookmakers on Tuesday as French raider Wizz Kid was cut to 10-1 (from 14) by a majority of layers.

Four international runners (Ortensia, Joy And Fun, Little Bridge and Wizz Kid) fill the top six places in the betting for the 5f Group 1, with Bated Breath topping the market at 9-2.

Ireland landed last year’s Windsor Forest Stakes with Lolly For Dolly and jockey Pat Smullen feels Emulous can carry off the prize for trainer Dermot Weld this year.

“I couldn’t be more pleased with her,” Smullen told At The Races. “Her comeback run was very encouraging and she’s always been a filly we’ve thought a lot of. She seems to be getting better as she gets older. Right now you’d have to be pleased with the way she is.”
