Strong Suit

The Richard Hannon-trained juvenile was previously a winner on her debut in a Newbury maiden.

“I don’t think there is any doubt that Maureen was the best filly in the race,” the Everleigh trainer told www.richardhannonracing.co.uk.

“She had no luck in running and should have won, but we know that she goes in soft ground, so we will definitely have a look at the Prix Morny.”

Strong Suit is likely to go to Deauville on August 12 for the Prix Maurice’de Gheest after his encouraging effort behind Mayson in the Darley July Cup on unsuitably soft ground.

“Sheikh Fahad took the decision to run, and Hughesie was really pleased how well Strong Suit ran in the circumstances,” said Hannon.

“He is a horse with plenty of speed and the six and a half furlongs of the Prix Maurice’de Gheest in France will suit him perfectly, so that will be the next port of call.

“It must stop raining one day!”
